Presentation of a cheque to the Un Enfant Par La Main association.
Thanks to all your help, the campaign "Knitting to grow up" initiated by Coudémail and the association Un Enfant Par La Main has established itself thanks to its humane and warm aspect, a wonderful equation allowing this initiative to fuel the NGO's arguments financially. The campaign, launched back in December, allowed everybody who so desired to pick up a "knitting kit" from Coudémail boutiques and take back a knitted square to make scarves a few days later. These scarves were then sold and all the profits made during this campaign were handed over to the NGO.
So on Thursday the 4th March, Coudémail teams, Chantal Gautier, representative of Un Enfant Par La Main in the Loire-Atlantique and Pierre Jablon, President of Un Enfant Par La Main met up in the Nantes boutique to present a cheque from the campaign that will allow a child survival and development unit to be built in the village of Gouana in Mali.
This involves a micro project that will allow:
* health conditions to be improved by reducing malnutrition among women and children under the age of five
* children to have access to a safe area and proper education
* mothers to be educated regarding a healthy diet
* training in the most common treatments for illnesses
